The next generation Mazda2/Demio will be the first Japanese model to feature a completely new small displacement diesel engine.
The SkyActiv-D clean diesel unit will have four cylinders and will include recent technologies like variable turbine geometry turbocharger with rotation sensor, water-cooled intercooler built into the intake manifold and improved combustion efficiency.
With a 1497 cc displacement, the diesel unit will be able to deliver 105 hp at 4000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque, available between 1500 and 2500 rpm.
The unit will meet Euro 6 emission standards and, above that, will be the most fuel efficient diesel engine in its segment. At least tis is what Mazda promises.
