Opel continues to expand the availability of the new 1.6 CDTi engine, one of the most quietest diesel on the market. The Russelsheim-based manufacturer announced that the current Zafira Tourer is receiving the 1.6 diesel in a ecoFlex formula, meant to reduce emissions and the average consumption.
The new Opel Zafira Tourer EcoFlex uses a detuned version of the 1.6 CDTi, delivering just 120 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This is 16 hp less than the most powerful version of the 1.6 CDTi, also found on the Zafira Tourer.
With the help of a standard start-stop system and a modified transmission with longer ratios, the Zafira Tourer EcoFlex manages to offer an average consumption of just 4.5 litre/100 km or 62.7 mpg in the UK. The CO2 emission are also low: 119 g/km.
The new Zafira Tourer EcoFlex is already on sale in Germany with a starting price of 26.850 euros.
