As we anticipated earlier, Mazda unveiled a special edition of tis current MX-5 Miata roadster during New York Auto Show, the event that opened its gates for the press starting today. The special edition is called Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary and comes with some special touches to help it stand out.
The exterior is painted in a Soul Red Metallic premium coat. The colour is contrasting with Brilliant Black used for the A-pillars, windshield surround, outside mirrors and Power-Retractable Hard Top. Other black inserts can be found in the lamp bezels and with the 17-inch Dark Gunmental 10-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza 205/45 R17 tires.
The interior is dressed in standard Almond leather for the seats, while a liquid metal-like satin chrome finish is used on the louver rings, gauge cluster meter rings and inner door handles. The same Brilliant Black used on the outside can be found also inside on the seatback garnish with Piano Black commanding the steering wheel spokes.
Also black leather wraps the steering wheel, parking brake lever, armrests and manual transmission shift lever booth. Red stitching is used throughout the interior, while the 25th Anniversary logo is embossed into the leather headrests as well as on the stainless steel door scuff plates.
The car will be available to order starting this spring, but the US market will receive only 100 units.
