After Fiat SPA become the owner of Chrysler Group, its attention turned to Europe, an important market in which subsidiary brand Jeep could improve. The legendary off-road brand used the Geneva Motor Show to introduce its two new addition to the eruopen range: the new Cherokee and the new Renegade.
While Cherokee is a very popular model, already available in the United States, the Renegade is a world premiere and a war intent on future rivals like Nissan Juke and Peugeot 2008. The car comes with 220 mm ground clearance, two all wheel drive configuration and with a Trailhawk version for off-road capability.
It will also have two diesel engines and two gasoline one. For those who prefer the last ones, the options will include a 1.6 normally aspirated angine and a 1.4 MultiAir delivering 140 hp. Like its bigger brother, the Renegade is the only car in its segment to offer a 9-speed automatic transmission.
