After a long carrier on the European market, Skoda Fabia is ready to make room for the next generation. The 2015 Skoda Fabia will be unveiled during this year Paris Motor Show, scheduled to open its gates in September.
Even if the new Rapid sedan and popular Octavia use the MQB platform, offered by parent Volkswagen Group, the new Fabia will make an exception. The small car model will ride on a different model, but will borrow many components from VW Polo and Seat Ibiza. Even the engine range will be the same as the one found on the Polo. This will include the 1.2 TSI versions and the TDI diesel engines.
To reach a wider audience, the Skoda Fabia will be offered with new body styles, along the popular hatchback. The clients will found a wagon body style and even a sedan version. Skoda is prospecting the market for a sub-compact sedan, a reborn four-door classic car, as offered with the first generation. The decision is to be taken, as range also has the Rapid sedan, meaning that it can canibalize its sales.
Skoda will abandon the RS performance version, but will stay with the current Monte Carlo edition, offering just sporty appearance.
The new Skoda Fabia will reach showrooms shortly after its global debut, meaning that we will be able to see it on the streets at the end of 2014 or in the early 2015.
