2015 Mercedes C63 AMG was officially revealed today in both sedan and estate body versions. The car is set to make its public debut during this year Paris Motor Show, set to open its doors next week.
The new performance sedan will benefit from new aerodynamics, with a redesigned front spoiler, with bigger air intakes, a power-dome hood, new side skirts and a back end diffuser with four tailpipes. The interior offers new leather and fabric upholstery for the seats, flat bottom steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, AMG logo`s and other aluminium inserts.
The most important news comes from the engineering department. The C63 AMG comes with a newly developed engine. It is a 4.0 liter V8 unit, delivering 476 HP between 5,500 rpm and 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 4,500 rpm range. This unit allows the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds and the Estate in 4.2 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Those looking for more power can opt for the Mercedes C63 AMG S version, also available on both the sedan and Estate versions. The same 4.0 liter V8 unit delivers 510 hp and 700 Nm. The resources are enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 4 seconds for the sedan and 4.1 seconds for the Estate.
Both units will be mated to a redesigned AMG Speedshift seven speed transmission, that send all the power to the rear wheels. It offers Sport+ and manual mode with aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel for faster reactions.
The cars also come equipped with AMG ride Control, four-link suspension, independent steering knuckles and a wider track to improve stability. The Mercedes C63 Amg S also comes equipped with an electronic rear differential.
