2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport was revealed today as a replacement for the current Freelander. The car was designed and engineered in UK and is scheduled to go on sale in early 2015. Prices will start at 37.995 USD on the US market, and under 32.395 GBP in UK, its home market.

The new design philosophy resembles that seen on the current Evoque and comes with a two bar grille, clamshell hood, large air intakes, LED fog lamps in the front bumper, wraparound headlights, Round daytime-running lights, bulky wheelarches, slim and wraparound taillights and gloss-black window surrounds.
The body can be had in Fuji White, Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Indus Silver, Loire Blue, Scotia Grey, Kaikoura Stone, Firenze Red, and a limited edition color, Yulong White.

With a 2741 mm wheelbase, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport can seat up to seven peoples in a 5+2 configuration. A prominent center console groups all controls logically. Soft-touch rotary controls and buttons set into a gloss-black surround create a tactile user-interface.
A 5-inch color TFT display is positioned between the main gauges presents key data such as fuel levels, gear position, coolant temperature and Terrain Response modes. The Discovery Sport can also offer four 12V power points and as many as six USB charging sockets.

In an off-road environment, the Discovery will be ready to tackle every challenge with approach, departure and breakover angles of 25, 31 and 21 degrees respectively, Terrain Response technology, and the ability to wade to 600mm. It can also scale gradients of up to 45 degrees.
The engine range will include only a petrol engine in the US, the 2.4 liter petrol, supercharged to develop 240 hp and 338 Nm. On the European market the Discovery Sport will be offered also with a diesel: a 2.2 liter four cylinder, delivering 190 hp. Both engines can be had with a nine speed automatic transmission.
Later on, at the end of 2015, Discovery Sport will also be offered with a eD4 engine, with less resources but improved efficiency. He will be the entry-level version on the UK market and will be priced under 30.000 GBP.
