2015 Kia Sorento was officially unveiled in South Korea during a special event. As we already saw in first official images, the 2015 Sorento uses a new front grille, designed after the same “tiger nose” philosophy, sweptback headlights, a swooping roof line, many chorme inserts, a tailgate mounted spoiler and plastic body cladding for off-road adventures.
Built on a new platform, that is 53% more stiffer thanks to a high-strength steel, the new Sorento has a length of 4,780mm, a width of 1,890mm, a height of 1,685mm and a wheel base of 2,780mm. This is a 80 mm increase for the wheelbase.
Inside the car there is a three spoke steering wheel that can be wrapped in colored leather, chrome accents and wood grain accents. The Sorento comes equipped with heated and ventilated seats, a JBL audio system, an infotainment system and a navigation system.
As a industry first, the 2015 Sorento uses a carbon reinforced plastic for one of the biggest panoramic sunroof in the segment. The safety equipment list will include forward collision warning system and Around View Monitor system.
The engine range will include two diesel engines on the SOuth Koreean market. One will be the 2.0 liter 186 hp unit, with 402 Nm of torque, and the other will be the 2.2 liter 202 hp with 441 Nm of torque.
The European version of the 2015 Kia Sorento will be unveiled in October, during Paris Motor Show.
