Ford applied the 2015 Focus modifications also on its sporty version, the Focus ST. And along with this also introduced a new version for the hot-hatch: the Focus ST diesel.
Unveiled today at Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new Focus ST diesel features the same exterior changes as the standard Focus, meaning the Aston Martin-like grille, the angular headlights with LED daytime function, back-end diffuser and customized tailpipes, together with some 19 inch wheels.
The most important changes are found under the hood, where we have the same 2.0 liter TDCi engine found on the standard Focus, but tuned up to deliver 185 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It is not so much but it`s enough to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 8.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 217 km/h.
The car also comes equipped with a start-stop system in standard which can improve the average consumption up to 4.4 liter/100 km. The emissions reach only 114 g/km.
