Peugeot will expand its range of cars offered in China with the introduction of the new 408 Sedan during this week Beijing International Auto Show. The car is heavily inspired by Peugeot 308, the car that is a real success in Europe and has already won the European Car of the Year award.
This means that the front fascia is very simillar to that of the 308, with sharpened headlights, LED day lights, a slender grille. The back is defined through a sloopy roof line, with wraparound LED taillights and even a dual exhaust system, underlining the sporty nature that the car tries to evoke.
Until Peugeot bring the 408 Sedan completely into the light, we know that the French sedan wll make use of the already popular 1.6 THP gasoline engine. It fits perfectly on the new EMP2 platform underneath the 408 sedan. The unit is supercharged and can deliver 156 horsepower.
The car will also have an entry-level version, set to use a naturally aspirated engine, with 1.6 liter capacity, delivering 117 hp. A medium range 1.8 liter unit is also expected under the bonnet. This engine will deliver at least 140 hp.
Further details will be reales on Sunday, during the press days in Beijing Auto China.
