Volvo, the Swedish manufacturer has unveiled its new concept car, the XC90 Lounge Console at the Auto Shanghai 2015.
This new version of the famous SUV focuses on a larger interior space by replacing the front passenger seat with a work space table. The table can be used for personal stuff and can also be rotated at 90 degrees to reveal a 17 inch media screen.
Thomas Ingenlath, the Senior Design Vice President at Volvo says that people who spend long hours in the car, should also have relaxing time. Analyzing the needs and concerns of its target clients, Volvo has come up with this XC90 Lounge Console Concept.
“A key element in our thinking was how to make the available interior space work for the occupants in an optimal and luxurious fashion. Removing the passenger seat enabled us to create an open space that dramatically changes the dynamics of the interior and led to a firework of ideas and new possibilities”, says Ingenlath.
The XC90 Lounge Console has a lockable storage box and a place for shoes, too. You can see here a teaser with the features of the Volvo’s new concept, XC90 Lounge Console.
