Starting this weekend, Beijing Motor Show will welcome its guests with a long list of premieres. Among them will also be the new Volkswagen Midsize Coupe Concept, that previews a future four-door coupe Jetta.
The concept was already anticipated through some intial sketches, showing a swooping roofline. The car was design by Volkswagen new chief of creation, Klaus Bischop. His team imagined the concept using aggresive lines, low roof line, short overhangs, 20 inch alloy wheels with 245/40 tyres, and dual chrome exhaust pipes.
In the official press release, Volkswagen says that the Midsize Coupe Concept is smaller than a Jetta but wider than a Passat. These charactheristic means the car will join the large group of VAG models developed on the MQB platform, already used for Golf, Octavia and A3.
The new Midsize Coupe Concept uses a turbocharged 2.0 liter TSI four cylinder engine, capable of 220 hp. This is enough to cover the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6.5 seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 245 km/h.
