Unveiled as a final production car in September 2013, during Frankfurt Motor Show, the BMW i8 is ready to debut on European market. The car is set to reach the showrooms in June, with a price tag of more than 130.000 euros.
The media drive-test sessions already began, and AutoExpress had the chance of driving the car. The hybrid uses a three cylinder gasoline engine, capable of delivering 228 hp. The 1.5 liter engine is assisted by a 129 hp electric motor that drives the front wheels.
This combination ensures a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 4.4 seconds and a fuel consumption better than the one of a Toyota Prius. The first driving impressions are resumed in the next video.
